I'm sure a lot of you have heard of Frontcover Cosmetics before as they are a very popular brand in the blogging world. I thought I would share with you my thoughts and opinions on their Metallic Collection.
First of, I love the packaging, it almost looks like a little book, which is great because it means everything is compact and in one place. It would also make a great gift.
Now for the actual products. I have included swatches of everything below!
Baked Eyeshadows
The first three products you can see are three baked eyeshadows in the shades: 'Golden Blond', 'Gold Blush and 'Pewter Pot'. You also are provided with a double ended eyeshadow brush to apply the shadows with. Overall I really liked these shadows, although they aren't greatly pigmented, they are very buildable, so you can choose to go bolder if you wish. I will definitely get a lot of use out of them as the colours are really neutral but the added shimmer just gives it that little extra, which is great if you're someone like me who isn't very daring when it comes to bold colours.
Kohl Eyeliner Pencil
The next product that comes in the kit it a kohl eyeliner pencil in the shade 'Pewter'. They eyeliner is double ended with a smudger at the opposite end, which I thought was a very nice touch! The swatch below shows the pencil before and after smudging. I really like this pencil as it is not a really heavy dark black, it is more of a really dark grey.
Cream Blusher
Next is a cream blusher in the shade 'Gilt Edged'. This is probably my favourite product in the kit as I don't own many cream blushers as I find they apply quite harshly and almost too pigmented for a blusher. This one however, is not too bright at all, it looks very natural when blended in, yet still visible. The formula is very creamy as expected so is easy to blend with the your fingers. You also receive a cheek brush to apply the blusher with if you prefer, but I found the shape of the brush made it difficult to apply.
Nail Polish
The kit also contains a Nail Polish in the shade 'Bronze Angel' - which I forgot to take a photo off!.. But the colour is great! There's nothing worse than having to apply a nail varnish 2-3 times before getting the colour to match how it appears in the bottle, but with this, 1 coat and you're ready to go!
Mini Lipsticks
My second favourite item in the kit is the mini lipsticks. I must admit I wasn't expecting much colour pay off from these lipsticks but I was pleasantly surprised! I only had to swatch these once to gain the two colours shown below! The first lipstick on the left is in the shade ' Tin Tack' which is a very peach/coral lipstick which is almost an exact match to the cream blush! I love this colour as again I am not very brave with bold colours so this is a really nice lipstick if you are looking for a more natural look. The second lipstick is in the shade 'Copper Mine' which is a very dark berry colour. This colour is great for this season as it more of a vampy red rather than a bright poppy red. Both lipsticks last an amazingly long time, definitely 8 hours+. I was highly impressed with these lipsticks!
Overall I really like this kit, as you it doesn't just limit you to one particular makeup look, you can experiment! The kit costs £19.50 which I don't think is too bad when you consider how much each individual item would cost elsewhere!
