New In: Colourpop 'My Little Pony' Palette & Super Shock Shadows

It's been a while since I placed a Colourpop order. In fact I think the last order I made was last January when I wrote a post on their Loveline Shadow Set. So it's safe to say it's been a while..
I actually picked out a few bits for Christmas and oh my god, I forgot how amazing everything is. I'm kinda kicking myself for leaving it this long to be honest.

The main thing I had my eye on was their My Little Pony palette. Don't get me wrong, I'm totally over this whole unicorn trend, but I grew up playing with My Little Ponies (Seriously, ask my Nana. I had a pony hair salon and everything..) so the nostalgia in me took over.

There wasn't anything else from the MLP collab that I was particularly interested in as I couldn't see myself wearing them so only picked up one other thing which was a super shock shadow, along with a couple of others from their normal range.

The palette contains 12 shades with a mix of matte, metallic and satin finishes. At first glance I think this palette looks a little scary with the more bold and colourful shades, but actually the shades in this palette are a lot more wearable than you think!

As with most metallic and satin Colourpop shadows, I don't have a bad word to say about them. The pigmentation is insane and I actually find the pay off when applying with a brush is very impressive which is unusual as with a lot of metallic shades the best way is normally to apply with your fingers.

For the most part the matte shades are great too with only a couple that could be improved. The only shade that is a little patchy is the bright pink shade but I've heard pinks and purples can be hard to formulate so I think that's just down to the colour.

As you can expect from this collab, the packaging has the most adorable design! Not only that, but the shade names, which can be found on the back of the palette, are sooooo cute too!

Moving on to the Super Shock Shadows..

As previously mentioned, I only picked up one from the MLP collab which was in the shade 'Sunbeam' and is a cool toned pastel lavender with pink and blue sparkles. It is more on the sheer side so if you want a more opaque shine, I'd recommend layering it over top of a light purple shadow.

The other two cream shadows I picked out were just from their regular line and are in the shades 'Banana Daiquiri' and 'Bubbly'. My favourite is definitely 'Banana Daiquiri' which despite the name, doesn't resemble banana's at all and is in fact a pastel teal shade with a insane metallic finish. The other shade, 'Bubbly' is a soft warm pink in a frost like finish.

Honestly, I'm gobsmacked at how much I love everything from this order. I don't think I'll be leaving it quite so long until my next order (sorry bank balance).

Which of the items I picked are your favourite?
