Whether you hate it or love it, it's pretty hard to ignore Valentine's Day. And with it fast approaching, I figured now's a good time to get a gift guide published. I thought this year it would be nice to showcase some smaller items as well as a few pricier bits and bobs. That way, hopefully there is something within everyone's price range.
I also though it would be cute to showcase them as a DIY hamper as they're one of my favourite things to give. I think they're so much more personal and fun than your standard wrapped presents and card. Of course it goes without saying, you can make these hampers tailored to any gender, so whether it be a girlfriend, boyfriend, or why not even make one up for your pals.
The actual basket itself is from a Yankee Candle gift set that I've reused, but I'm sure it won't be too hard to find them in local craft or homeware stores.
Personally, I think a hamper isn't complete without a nice box of chocolates and some fancy bubbly. The chocolates all come down to personal preference, but I just went with some Lindt ones in your standard heart shaped box. As for the champagne, I wanted to go one up than just getting a regular old bottle. GiftOnline4U do a wide range of personalised valentine's gifts for your loved one including engraved pieces, so I thought I would browse their site and see what I could find. I came across this amazing personalised champagne bottle and thought it would make the perfect addition to my valentines hamper. Not only is the pink heart label the cutest, but you are given plenty of room to write a personal message if you wish to! If champagne isn't really your thing, then don't worry, GiftsOnline4U also produce personalised bottles of wine, prosecco and much more, so you're bound to find something you and your partner like! I do think all hampers should include a personalised item purely because of the thoughtfulness that goes into it. You can take something as simple as a bottle of champagne, and add some love and meaning to it by personalising it with a sweet message.
For me, valentine's is all about making someone feel their best. So it seems very fitting to include some luxurious pamper and beauty products to treat your partner to. Kicking things off with a cult classic, the Soap & Glory Hand Food Hand Cream. I swear by this product and have been using it for years! Not only does it smell very sweet like vanilla and strawberries, but the pink packaging makes it a perfect valentines treat!
So now your partner has the softest hands, what about their nails? You could treat them to a manicure at your local salon, or you could go down the do it yourself route. It's no secret that my go to brand for false nails is Elegant Touch. With a range of colours and designs, there is something for everyone! But to keep it simple and sophisticated for such a special occasion, why not go for a classy nude, a soft pink, or your classic red?
If your partner is into makeup you could add some of the best high end beauty products to make them feel a million dollars. One of my favourite luxury lip products is the YSL Sheer Candy Lipsticks. They're very subtle with not a lot of colour pay off, making them a great product for a more natural look and to add that glossy shine to your lips so they look extra kissable! Fitting in with the valentines theme, the Too Faced Love-Flush Blushes are always a good choice. They come in a range of gorgeous colours and the packaging and design are absolutely perfect for this time of year. And finally in the beauty category, a pair of Kiss Lashes (again, the name itself suggest how perfect these are for valentines). These are some of the best lashes I've tried, and I'm sure your partner will love them too!
Moving on to some accessories now. Jewellery is always a good pick for a special gift, especially earrings. I actually have these Ted Baker Heart Stud Earrings in both silver and rose gold because I love them so much! They're so dainty and elegant that the go with every outfit imaginable. At around £20 they aren't going to break the bank too!
And finally, it wouldn't be valentines without showcasing some underwear would it? The first set I have to show you is from the luxury brand Something Wicked who specialise in handmade premium lingerie. All their pieces are crafted so beautifully and they have a great selection ranging from more classy and simplistic sets to more daring and out there pieces for those who like to play hard. The particular set I have is from the Annabel collection and as you can see, the detailing is simply stunning!
The second set I have to show you is from the brand UK Lingerie and is a great choice for those of use who want a more casual and cute look! The set consists of this stunning floral bralette and matching thong. I also think it's worth mentioning that you can find some gorgeous PJ sets on UK Lingerie's site. One of my favourite's being the Dreamgirl Chiffon Set which is both cute and casual, but a bit cheeky and playful!
And there we go! That's your valentines hamper complete. If you want to go that extra mile, you could also decorate your home or even just your bedroom to impress your partner even more! It doesn't have to be anything to drastic or crazy, just some simplistic touches like some rose petals and candles.
Or, if you do want to splash out some new decorative pieces just for the occasion, I would recommend heading over to Amara and checking out their home accessories. I recently picked up this dreamy Ted Baker cushion which is unbelievably beautiful (I really want the full bed set now), and this cool pink geometric style vase to showcase a beautiful bunch of roses, or any other flowers of choice!
