The 5 Fashion Trends I've Been Loving This Autumn

I can't quite believe we're already into autumn/winter fashion! It seems like only two minutes ago I was buying playsuits and bikinis and yet here we are pulling out the layers. Usually I'm not a fan of Autumn/Winter fashion as I find it hard to do the whole 'layering' thing and finding the right balance of looking cute but not freezing. However, this year the trends have been right up my street! Seeing all the new pieces in store and online have been really helpful in updating my wardrobe this season and helping me to create the best autumn outfits! So with that being said, here's five autumn fashion trends I've been totally loving:

Midi Dresses

My usual take on dresses in Autumn tends to be the following - wear my usual dresses, just with tights and boots. And whilst this is still partly true, I've totally fell in love with longer dresses, particularly midi dress. If you're not a huge lover of tights, this is the perfect trend for you. Midi dresses come in so handy for this time of year when the temperatures are just starting to cool down but you can still get away with bare legs! Picking a dress that incorporates all the autumnal tones, and pair with boots for the perfect autumn outfit!

Gilets

I can't tell you how much I've always loved Gilets! Particularly the faux fur gilets from Caris Closet which come in all kinds of styles and colours. I'm totally obsessed with their hooded gilets as I don't think I've seen them anywhere else so I definitley need to add one to my wardrobe! They're a great piece for layering and keeping you all snuggly and warm, whilst still looking stylish and smart! Animal Print

It's no secret Animal print has totally taken over the fashion industry this year. From snakeprint, to leopard, to croc we all love it! This trend was around in Summer and doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon, and for a good reason! Animal print is actually a great way to transition between seasons as we love print all year long. And with all the various colours, and types of animal print available it's easy to see how these pieces can work all year depending on how you style them up. Personally my favourite has to be snakeprint, but I can see myself getting some croc print boots for the colder months!

Biker Boots

Now this might actually be my favourite trend of the year! I've always loved biker boots so I'm excited to see how popular this year. There's something about the contrast of styling up a feminine, floral dress with some chunky biker boots that I'm totally obsessed with and is usually my go to autumn outfit! Of course, they're not just cute but practical too once the weather gets a bit wetter so yay for looking fab and comfortable! 

Leather

And finally we have one of the biggest trends of the season - faux leather. At one time, leather was associated with bags, shoes and jackets. Fast forward to now, and boy has that changed! Faux leather skirts, dress, shirts, jeans etc have become hugely popular. Just like biker boots, I think we're all loving looking a bit more edgy and badass in the autumn/winter. I know when I wear my leather trousers, I'm more confident than ever! I can't wait to get some more pieces to add to my wardrobe.
